Mend Durotorque One Tell Me

can any one tell me ?

I have been told that a mk5 rwd gearbox will fit on a early mk6 rwd van as some of the mk6 had a bananna type engine fitted as well, then they put in the durotouqe engine but I am not sure when and if they kept the same gearbox can any body help
