Mend Craftsman 917-273634 Riding Mower Clutch Engine

ow can i fix my craftsman riding mower, model#917-273634?

I replaced the clutch, because the old clutch had frozen because the bearings had gone out. After replacing the old clutch with a new one, it will not engage. The engine starts, it goes into gear and moves, but the clutch will not engage so the blades can turn.
