Mend Sears 917.25855 Riding Engine Model

sears riding lawn mower 15 hp kohler engine model 917.25855?

I have a 10 yr old sears, 15 hp kohler engine, hydrostat, riding lawn mower that starts fine and will run as long as I keep the clutch in. As soon as I try to move foward, it dies. The mower is not engaged.
