Mend Hotpoint WT540 Washing Machine Electric Motor

black on wires near motor?

my hotpoint wt540 has been playing up for ages now there was a loud bang and a flash from it and it tripped the elecric i have found wires near motor with black on them could it be a loose wire or is it the motor?
