Mend Fisher & Paykel Error Code Washing Machine Cycle

Error Code 37 on Fisher & Paykel Intuitive?

I have a Fisher & Paykel Intuitive washing machine. When it gets to spin cycle, the sound of a small electric motor can be heard, but no water is pumped out. Then Error Code 37 appears on the screen. All feedback appreciated. Thanks.

Further to my posts in 2017 re error 37 on Fisher Paykel Intuitive top load washing machine. I had fail again 2023 August. Got to rinse cycle but pump continued even though water out...eventually 6 beeps and error 37 need service.
Having replaced the pump in 2017 I doubted failure again so I assumed the computer was not receiving water level empty which it gets from a pressure switch in control panel. Unplug power, remove 2 screws securing control panel at rear of panel, carefully lift and remove panel and lay it on lid. At rear right hand side there is a clear plastic tube to a plastic unit..this is the pressure hose to the switch sensing water level. Carefully disconnect the hose and blow down the hose with your mouth, it may be a tad difficult but should be possible. If not it's blocked probably by lint or dry washing powder etc. I've not had to follow the tube to tub level., the tube must be free or level switch will not sense empty tub. Refitting and restart wash was successful. NB: the lid must be closed to restart. Hope this helps,
regards, GK

I have intuitive ecco IW812 with error code 37...i replaced tge selni pump (32ohms) with another selni older pump (62ohms), but problem persists. Older pump was rusty, so i cleaned with wire brush, completely disassembled and greased bearings with penrite. Then.... Electrical smell but pumped first cycle, but second cycle wouldn't spin and gave code 37. I even removed all pipes to check blockages.
Any help please

In addition to my post June 2017 re error 37 and pump. The stator (coil) measured leakage 1Mohm to earth...enough to trip safety switch in meter box. The secondhand pump failed the same November 2017. Approx. $70.00 new. An EASY fix.

I am a retired TV technician. If you are unfamiliar with electrical safety requirements....call for professional service.Machine would start to fill (We use auto sense) and continue to 1st wet down (pump from outlet top rhs) but....would not last very long...do a couple of "hiccups" and stop- sit for a few minutes and the continue. Not much water was in tub. Pump out was not long enough to empty tub. It would do this a couple of times....get to 1st rinse and beep warning Error code 37...call for service. I started Spin to empty tub. I leaned machine against wall and removed the pump and checked for blockages in hoses..etc..none! Pump was a tad warm but I didn't place any great importance at that time. I removed the terminal cover and measured the DC resistance of the motor at terminals...24 Ohms included the thermistor which measured 0.2 ohms mounted to the right of terminals and is sitting on the motor coil. I had an old motor I had stripped from a machine years ago...spec's on sticker were same as my machine. It was a tad rusty but a clean up and bearing lub' looked ok. The thermistor resistance was 0.2 ohms but the coil was 5 ohms higher. The coil didn't appear burnt on the original pump! I swapped pumps...and started a wash cycle. First obvious difference was the pump cycle to wet down the wash at fill.(From pump -not taps) lasted some 3 minutes instead of 1 with old pump. SO! The old pump was overheating and the computer locked it out I assume because the thermistor disconnected the pump. (The thermistor is a thermal switch). So...my advice...work the pump as hard as possible..disconnect power and get the machine on it's back as quick as possible and feel the pump stator.....if it's a tad to hot to handle..replace it. I offer no guarantee what so ever...I hope my experience will help ...it's a simple replacement..no tools required..push the nylon locking lever...twist the pump...and pull down. Disconnect power plug and earth lead. NOTE....it doesn't take much to jam the pump...pins..bra underwire..small coins....check hoses first.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I was able to remove the pump and found a twisted safety pin lodged in it.
The washing machine is now working normally.

Pulled out the pump as described below (found on our GW12 on the front right corner underneath the machine, plastic tab is the kind of tab that prevents screwing rather than a depression tab - lift rather than push/pull - screwed out pump) blew through the pipe to make sure it was cleared, reinstalled pump+ wires and BINGO!

I had an error code 37 on my fisher & paykel washer. I removed the filter and 3 bobby pins. Did not fix the problem. I then removed the filter laid the washer on its back. I then shone a torch and turned the impeller. I could see a small object behind the impeller I was able to remove with long nose pliers. Was a very fine bobby pin. This fixed the washer

Newer machines have different pump with no fan exposed to spin. The pump is also screwed to the chassis and needs unscrewing before cleaning. One screw is behind the hinged filter cover at the bottom right hand corner. The other three are accessed by removing the long plastic kick plate along the bottom which is held in place by plastic clips accessed from the base of the machine. Either tip onto its front (cushioned to protect controls) or upside down. Remove galvanised baseplate to access clips and pump. The pump can be disassembled for cleaning / removal of debris by removing three screws in body.

Code 37 problem. Read a solution here, fixed the machine in 30 seconds. Gave a big puff of air into drain hose and away the machine went. A good starting point.

Whoo hooo hooo!!! Emptied all 250 gallons of water out, tipped it up (maybe there was a little left in there, so it took the wife and daughter to hold it from amputating my arm), spun the little fanny looking thing on the bottom of the motor spindle, tipped it back up and....

Emptying as we type. Great help.

My wife decided to wash three rugs in our machine!!! All the rubber backing came off and blocked the pump. I emptied most of the water and although the machine would spin it would not empty even with trying to free the blockage by spinning the bowl. I turned it on its side and undid the clamp holding the tube to the pump. Then I used a shop vac and a piece if wire to pull all the rubber out. It eventually worked and the machine now works as normal

Try this. Pull drain hose out and blow a hard puff of air. Dislodged the pump blockage and no more error code.

Thanks for your suggestion. Easier than manually emptying the machine though and tipping it, all I done was advance onto spin and then spun the barrel as it started. After a few spins the machine then emptyed and the next wash when through whole cycle with no problems. Saved a service agent fee. :)

i love the internet. i spun the fan and it didn't work exactly, but I had my wife start the washer spinning while i was underneath and helped it spin the first few times and it came loose. now it sounds like an airplane taking off while it spins.....just like normal! thank you

Error code 37 is pump blocked. Sound you hear is pump trying to turn. Pump is located under front right hand corner of bowl. Empty as much water out by hand then tip machine back against wall. Sometimes just spinning the pump fan by hand a few times will dislodge the blockage and you will feel it come free. Then stand machine up & advance to final spin & press start. If pump is still blocked then it will have to be removed for cleaning.
