Mend Craftsman 917.271634 Model Clutch

How do i fix my Craftsman lawn tractor model # 917.271634?

When i engage the attachment clutch lever the tractor shuts off. i've replaced all saftey switches and that did'nt work.

OK with the engine OFF can you turn the blades by hand?
If the blade spindles are not frozen stalling the engine check the wiring to the PTO interlock switch. Look for crushed, burnt or chaffed wires. Any place that it may be grounding out.
