Mend Toshiba Laptop Battery Charging

What's wrong with my toshiba?

Was working fine then all of a sudden it went off, it was plugged in charging. I then unplugged it nd it wouldn't come on charged it for an hour turned on started up said it had 3% charge, after 2 minutes it went off baring in mind it was still plugged in what I wrong with it????
