Mend Peugeot 306 1.4XL Heater Matrix Thermostat

how can i fix my heating?

i`ve got a 1996 peugeot 1.4xl 306 and the heater/demister has just stopped blowing out hot air. i`ve changed the thermostat and the hoses going in and out of the matrix are getting hot. i would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction
