Mend Ford ST24 Gearbox Gear Grinding

MONDEO ST24 GEARBOX CABLES LACK OF 1ST AND 3RD GEAR?

Ive got a mondeo st24 R reg and just changed the engine and when we put it back the gear lever has gone sloppy and 1st and 3rd gear have almost disappeard it grinds and jumps out when you try to use them is there any adjustment on the gearbox or cables please help thanks

depending on how the cables have been put back they may need re routing as this alters the way they pull

there is adjustment on the cables on the gear box endby pushing the tabs in you can move the cables in or out then pull them out to lock them in place
