how do i put oil in gearbox for 306?

Doesn't sound like a oil problem, but maybe something else in the box, like the diff.

To put oil in you will need a square drive tool (can be manufactured by grinding a M10 thread bolt to a square profile). On the left hand side of the box (wheel side) there are two square drive plugs, one at the bottom right (looking from wheel side) and one at top left. Put in the square tool to the top left plug and undo. Remove the plug and fill with the recommended oil (75/80 i think). This is done by either buying oil with a tube attached to the bottle or using a kitchen funnel and a length of hose inserted into the hole. When the oil begins to flow back out of this hole, refit the plug, box is full.

It may be an idea to change all of the oil rather than just topping up. In this case simply take out the bottom plug and drain oil then refit plug and follow guide above.

N.B when removing the plugs be sure to remove the iron filings from the back of the magnetic plug (more there are, the less healthy your box is)
