when cluch is down difficult to select first gear goes in with a shove but feels like its grinding in and same when moving up to second 3rd 4th 5th and 6th are ok when i get past second any help
thanks forgot to mention reverse your spot on will try when engine is switched off

if it goes in easy when engine is switched off, then it will be your clutch at fault [not clearing] ,i suspect also that reverse gear is also difficult to engage when engine running!
