Beeping Alert when I open the door of my 1999 Fiesta with the headlights on?

the first is the obvious ...........check your fuses if all are ok ask yourself what you did before the alert stopped working ..it may be as simple as the sidelight bulb wires have been put back the wrong way round.......which is what happened to me
