electrolux power nozzle power not working?

my electrolux 6500 was doing great this morning until it found a sock under the bed.
i removed the sock but the power nozzle wont spin again.
it sucks up dust bunnies on hardwood fine but has lost its magic on the carpets.
the reset button isnt making a difference.
