How can I get my CANDY SPRINT PLUS washing machine door handle to release?

The problem is that the cycle has completed, the machine has switched off but the door will not open? Have run another cycle, and also switched off at the wall but the door will not release! Has anybody any suggestions as to how I can release the door, gain sufficient access from somewhere so that I can release it mechanically. I'm at a loss as to what to do so any help will be really appreciated. THank you. Robert

Robert - I am not an expert. But the door will not open if there is still water in the machine. If you have a door hatch fitted you can open it to clean the pump and release the water. Usually, it is on the front of the machine low down. You may be able to release the water from here. But you will need a large tray to catch it in. It will then allow you to open the door and retreve your clothes.
