Zanussi Jet System 1200?

The "Start/Pause" button does not seem to be working. The machine is on (there is electricity and the power button works) but cannot turn on cycle/programme. I have a full load in the machine and it will allow you select the programme but when your push "Start/Pause" button it beeps but nothing else happens. You can push "Skip" button until you have three horizontal lines in the display panel ( - - - ) but if you then push "Start/Pause" or "Skip" buttons and others it flashes "Err". You can resent the the cycle/programme but with same results as above. This means that we cannot operate the machine as the door is now locked (light is lit) and will not release.
