When you turn the screw a quarter turn clockwise, you need to keep pulling the door whilst turning the screw!!!
Once the screw has turned 90 degrees, the door is locked again. The door releases when the screw is rotated 45 degrees!!!

A few days ago our Dyson CR02 'door lock light' wouldn't go out when the programme finished, so the washing couldn't be removed. After reading that Dyson have a standard call out charge of £85 I phoned our local repair man who said he could fix it and would charge £45 call out. He was very helpful but busy and hadn't turned up by 5pm so I decided to open the machine myself, after unplugging it. The top comes off after removing 2 screws at the rear but it isn't easy to go much further; however I saw a ribbon cable (rather like you find in a PC) obviously carrying electrical signals. I unplugged it and re-plugged it, then refitted the top. After switching the electricity on again - the door light had gone out, and the machine is working normally again!
I assume that the plug had been loosened by the machine vibrations.
I hope this may help others with this problem, which appears to be a common occurrence.

drain the waste pipe by lowering it to ground level into a bucket as low as possible then pull out the soap dispenser draw under the front of the draw just inside is what looks like a grey flat head screw turn this clockwise with a two pence peice only a qauter of a turn and the doors should release
