Mend Peugeot 307 HDI 90 Plate

loose heat shield? how to solve?

just recently bought an 05 plate peugeot 307 hdi 90 and on the passed mot cert it had an advisory for loose heatshield. where do i find this on the car and is it a major issue? cheers

Usually between the catalytic converter (part of the exhaust which gets really hot) and the underside of the car. When mine came loose the rattling was driving me mad, the mechanic just got a hammer and screwdriver and knocked it off!.

Don't know about you car in particular but a heat shield is usually a plate fixed under the floor between the floor and the exhaust to deflect heat from the floor,get it up on ramps and poke around that area,you may find a loose bit.
