Mend Hoover Commodore Motor Spin Fill

How can I fix my hoover washing machine?

My Commodore washing machine sounds like the motor is running, but it won't agitate or spin. It still fills and empties. Do I need to place a service call, or can my kind-of-handyman husband fix it?

I had the same problem with a Hoover washing machine and called a service engineer in, it turn out to be worn brushes on the motor. It didn't take long to fix, just remove motor take out old brushes and replace with new (20 minutes) your handyman should be able to do it!
