Mend Epson PF-800FW Printer Scanner Error

My Epson PC800 will not initialize?

When I powr up my Epson PF 800FW it says "printer error" refer to manual, no paper jams or anything, just will not initialize. Had PC World guys look at at and said scanner was faulty, they have replced with a new HP but the PF800 is only a year old and seems silly to dump it?
