I HAVE A 1996 -855-JOHN DEERE--IT WAS RUNNING AND I WAS OFF OF IT FOR A ?

WHILE, WHEN I GOT BACK ON IT, I WENT TO TURN THE LIGHTS ON AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF, AND NOW IT WON'T DO ANYTHING. NOTHING WILL WORK. COULD YOU ADVISE ME ON WHAT HAPPENED.
