Mend John Deere K161 Tractor Engine

tractor starts but shuts off after a couple of minutes??? John Deere?

John Deere kohler engine 16 horse power with 1 cylnder...I can start it, but shuts off in a few minutes????? Any suggestions?

Had a similar problem- fuel shutoff was closed somewhat. Fuel would flow (slowly) into filter chamber, but would be sucked out when engine was running, and quit quickly. Got the shutoff open, also replaced fuel filter, no more worries.
