External Bell sounds during power cut?

The bell box has a battery :) disconnect this bat and you will have no external sound when power cuts...(thumbsup)

I have a optima XM alarm system.
Just recently, I have my alarm system going off soon as the sun hits the exturnel bell box, its a flashgurd bell box.
I have notice when it goes off, and type in my code stop it , the temper switch is on. The srobe does not come on but the beel works. Can you tell me if I require a new bell box or is there a built in battery in the Flashgurd box otr would the temper switch be rusted so when the sun shines on it it goes off.

no you are right mike this should not make a sound on battery power in the panel if you have a manual look under external sounder and strobe or if you dont have a manual and this is bugging you i would suggest and new bell box e.g texecom,novaguard,klaxon flashguard.

if possible check the voltage from the external bell positive and the bell hold off you should be getting 12 volts if you are not getting this there is a problem with the pcb. you can fix this if you wire the 12v positive and bell hold off into the 12 volt aux. power output.

Thanks - Its an Intellisense securit 800L panel.
Surely the external bell does not ring every time there is a power cut?
The battery fuse on the panel is fine. The battery is new. Any other suggestions?

so you have purchased a brand new battery but still when it goes onto battery power on the panel it sounds what panel is this veritas ,optima etc

The battery is there to operate the alarm when the power is off,it is a back-up,disconnect the battery if the house is secure or it will always go off,reconnect when you close shop.
