Optima 2 plus home alarm?

Please could someone help with my home alarm problem. When we have a power cut at home this causes the alarm to sound even when it's not armed, this has happened alot recently with the alarm going off all day while we are at work. The battery in the control panel is O.K. Is it possible to completely turn the system off or otherwise fix this problem ? Cheers Paul. As i said i would like to turn the system off completely, can this be done ?

hi there, the remote panel show a small 'c'. Cant get rid of it. Any ideas please/

Hi

I also have an really old optima 2 plus and it was working fine until I changed the pin which worked fine. The problem came when I changed pin again to 8888 and after this it does not set the alarm the way it use to. Could this be because I set it to 8 as this is the number you need to press after you enter new code in?

Sorry for any confusion.

I appricate any help or advise on this.

I have a very old Optima 2 plus alarm system about 20
old when you now enter the houses there is no beep and the alarm goes of straight away where before it would beep
for some time to allow you tome to enter your code

i fit them paul its my job it sounds like a duff battery as that is your back up for loss off supply or if your battery is a duff check the battery fuse in the panel as for to noise you hear it is what as known as a chime you normally put this zone on front door or back door so you know if some one has come in press chime 0 it will reset itself but i as for the battery they last 4/5 years in the panel i mean i have the same panel in my house its brilliant try that but check the battery has not blew the fuse or it wont charge paul

yes this can be done and i will help you as much as i can . to do this i will step to step instruct you

1.open the MAIN panel the tamper alarm may sound if this does take the cover off and enter your code and press reset

2. find where the mains connects and there should be a pull out fuse , then when you find it pull the fuse out

3.when you have done that now the panel should be on BATTERY back up disconnect the battery

4.now the panel should be completely dead
now paul if the bellbox outside starts to go off then you need to power back up if your code workes good if not these are default codes 9999 0123 if the bell does not go off your done and you shouldnt have any problems

paul YOU MUST keep the pull out fuse somewhere safe because if you loose it and you want to power up again you wont have any power
