Mend Volkswagen Mk4 Golf Problem

mk4 golf alarm problem?

Just bought this mk4 1.4 golf. I think it has had some kind of after market alarm fitted and for some reason using the fob remote doesn't unlock it and opening it using the key triggers the alarm. Any ideas?
