Mend Volkswagen MK4 Golf 16 Problem Working

broken mk4 golf speedo?

hi there my 1998 1.6 mk4 golf has an anoying problem. the speedo does not work although I still have a working rev counter , firstly i changed the gearbox sensor which didnt work and secondly i changed the speedo head much to my suprise the new speedo head still wouldnt work all i can get is revs and fuel e.t.c. could there be a broken soldering joint in one of the speedo head connecting clips?? any help would be great.
