Alarm keeps going off on my volkswagen Beetle?

try this..

Check that the pipe connecting to the rear screenwash nozzle(within tailgate) has not become partially disconnected,if it has then screenwash runs down into a microswitch on the tailgate lock(common problem).This causes the alarm to go off intermittently.

Golf iv estate suffers a similar problem but is caused by the top washer connector becoming detached this then leaks onto the lock and triggers false alarms
