Mend Briggs & Stratton Classic 35 Lawn Mower Start

How do you start a Briggs & Stratton Classic 35?

Have just bought this secondhand and I cannot get it started. There is fuel in it and was told it did work when I purchased it. However, after priming via the red 'button' holding the handle and pulling the start cord nothing happens!
Can anyone help me?
