Have lawn mower with Briggs & Stratton Classic 35 engine which will not start. Have done all the obvious things - replaced plug - cleaned carb and renewed diaphragm - cleaned air filter. Fuel reaching carb OK but still not starting. Any advice please.
Is the blade on the machine? The blade acts as a flywheel and most briggs engines won't start without a blade fitted. If the blade IS fitted, then have you checked the flywheel alloy key? If no, it could have fractured causing the flywheel to move on the crank slightly causing a timing issue.
