Mend Fisher & Paykel excellence 6.5 Smart Drive Spin

My F&P excellence 6.5, smart drive 9. Trouble on spin cycle. It does a wash?

Hi my washing machine is playing up. It does up to the end of the wash cycle and then attempts to drain and spin but doesn't unless I let it rest for 1/2 hour or so. It makes noise as it attempts to continue however it cannot discharge the water and complete a wash without a waiting period. I wonder if this is a simple case of worn belts (do they use belts?). Thank you if anyone is able to head me in the right direction.

Thank you Lincoln Appliance! I found a long "snake " of fluff just behind the pump. It's now working a dream!

No the F&P smartdrive doesn't have any belts. Sounds like the drain pump may be the problem. It may be partialy blocked or old & rusty causing it to overheat. It will then stop pumping until the pump cools down. It won't spin or do anything until all the water is out of the bowl. Check the drain pump.
