When you press the start pause button it should beep once & the light will stop flashing. If it doesn't then the start pause button switch is faulty or corrosion has eaten through the copper tracks going to that switch. If you have a repair centre near you they can replace the switch or repair the board. The other option is buy a new display board from F&P and fit that. Easiest solution but expensive. That model is way more than 11 years old. It was manufactured 1995 to 1996. That makes it 17 to 18 years old.
