why wont my camcorder not record because every time I try to record lines ?

Do you mean black lines show through the picture. My canon is doing this and from what I can gather, and Im not expert so if anyone else can confirm this it would be good. It is either a case of dirty heads or more than likely the heads are slightly out of alignment. The second meaning it will need to go in for a service. If its mini dv the problem being where the tape is so thin the slightest lost of alignment will cause all sorts of problem
