When the button is pressed it doesnt light up but does light up when the side lights are on, when pressed you can hear a clicking noise from the glovebox, the clicking noise is coming from the orange relay in there, the button is not supposed to stay in as it it does come back all the way out as I have checked this with a friends car but it should light up when pressed, it does not demist the window. any help please would be appreciated.
Having been a master technician for peugeot for many years, the answer to this fault is a burnt out wire for hrw circuit which is on a connector block behind o/s/r inner quarter panel trim ( easy job)

the lights are on but dosent go brighter it just clicks at the orange box at the glovey and dosent work

when i push in the demister button it just makes a clicking noise in the orange box in the glovey

Are you sure you're pushing the right button? Check the handbook, make sure you're not switching on the fog light.

you need a new relay for the switch. if the window comes on when the sidelights are on it could be a bad earth. doesn't usually work with the sidelights! but change the relay first.
