HOW CAN I FIX MY CARINA E N REG CAR ALARM?

My car is a Toyota Carina E N Reg 5 door hatch. Initially my fob would not switch the alarm off i.e the indicators would not flash, so I had to use the key to open the door which started the alarm sounding.Eventually the alarm stopped and I could drive the car but the alarm warning light was on continuously red. I have opened and closed all doors, windows, boot and bonnet. Have put the key into the ignition and pressed the buttons on the fob whilst on position one, two and fully on. Now I have no alarm sounding at all, I can drive the car and lock the doors with the key but the alarm warning light is now flashing all the time even when I am driving with the key in the ignition. Since doing all this I have now tried pressing both buttons on the fob for 12 and 16 seconds then pressing one button but still to no avail. Can anyone please help me to solve this problem?
