Mend Sony DVD91E Door Problem Push

How to fix my Sony DVD91E Handycam disc cover door?

I have a major problem with the cover disc door of my Sony Handycam DVD91E. Once I push the button to open the door and eject the DVD disc the camera makes its usual sound but then it stops and the door dosn't open. I havn't sent it to SONY yet, I'v sent it to a few people I know fix cameras they say it could be a small malfuction with the doors operation.... what do you think?
Any advice would be very helpful.
