release button for steam not working?

Tefal Pressing Compact Model 2820 Steam Generator Iron - Steam & pressure OK but button to release steam not working. Iron heats up OK.

I have the same problem. Green light keeps flashing too. I have cleaned the tank and still steam keeps gushing out.
