Mend Proline LVD198W DVD Remote Player

proline LVD198W won't play DVD. Disc not spinning in carrier. ?

LVD198W Proline TV/DVD player - have only used for DVD's, now won't play, think kids may have 'frozen' it using remote. DVD isn't spinning in the carrier, only volume control seems to work on remote. Anyone any ideas?
