Samsung tv won't come on straight away?

My samsung lcd tv same model as Tony's and about 3years old has the same problem switch it on it goes out of standby and then takes anything up to a hour to actually come on does antone know why it is doing this. At first I thought maybe it was the remote control but as this does work and switches on my samsung dvd player it has to be the tv, but why once it comes on its perfect.
