how to get door to lock?

my maytag neptune's door will not lock and so it will not spinn how can i get it to lock

take the door seal off the front there will be something holding it on to the panel this is usaully a wire with a spring which is usually situated at the bottom off the door seal push this through to the drum and unscrew your doorlock u will need to unplug the door lock to take it off thaugh so turn off the washer first
