Mend Peugeot 406 Engine Help

how do i tension aux belt 406 2.1td 12v engine?

can anyone help. how do i correctly tension the auxillarry drive belt on my 406 diesl with th 2.1 12valve engine.
i have been told that they are not straight forward as the tensioner reacts to loading so it has to be set in a set way. any advise is appreciated.
