how can i farmat my hard drive?

Please can anyone help me out on how to format my hard drive from another computer?

Remove hard disk from one computer and install (as slave if IDE) in second PC. Start 2nd PC, goto My computer click on new drive (may be D:) and format.
Replace in 1st computer
