Weed eater spool keeps letting out the line!!! UGH!!!?

Check if your spring is missing-it controls
the tension. If it is missing, line will just come out, break & go flying. Look for or buy another spring.

Sure 'nuf. this problem will likely never be fixed concerning uncontrollable line advancing. I bought mine last fall and have been looking for a solution since. Still trying to figure it out myself but haven't gone scientific with it yet. Good that I have two huskys that can easily beat anything troy bilt

you have been duped, just like myself. you dont own a troy-bilt, you own an MTD mexican manufactured trimmer. Troy-BIlt whored their name on this product and there is no answer to your question. I have fiddled with this for 3 months and am beyond p*ss*d off about it. If you call Troy-Bilt, they won't help you either; they don't care either. Better off buying a Ryobi or Echo and saving the heart-ache..... Gosh i wish i could "personally" deliver this p.o.s. that i have to the Troy-Bilt CEO ; it'd be a fun conversation......
