How do I remove the agitator ?

How do I remove the agitator in a Maytag washing machine model #A606 ? I have oil leaking into the wash tub and I hope I can replace the seal !?!?

I have leaking water and it appears to becoming from the tub on my aprox. 1987 stacked maytag washer and dryer. How do I remove the agitaor. Will I have to remove the tub to replace the seal and bearing
