Mend Simpson Esprit 550 Washing Machine Agitator Motor

My simpson esprit 550 no longer agitates or spins?

My simpson esprit 550 was overloaded and unbalanced, and as a result no longer agitates or spins. On opening the back cover and placing it on spin, the motor does not turn.

The out of balance lever which hangs down at the right hand rear corner of the outer bowl may of got stuck when it was pushed back by the bowl, meaning it is stuck in the on position. Put your hand through the gap between the top ring & the top deck. Feel around for the lever & check that it is in the forward position close to the outer bowl.
