Mend MTD 12/38 Engine Lawn Stopped

Pulley off the bottom of engine?

The pulley that comes out the bottom of the engine on my older MTD 12/38 lawn tractor stopped spinning. Is there a shear pin that connects it to the motor? Is it easy to replace?

Hi the pulley will either have a keyway which can shear or sometimes the sleeve of the pulley shaft is grooved to fit the crank shaft.

yea there is a shear pin and shouldn`t be too hard to replace ....try sprayin the shaft with wd 40 or PB blaster and let sit overnite
