Mend Securit 700L Power Cut Years

battery change?

Our alarm goes off when there is a power cut and I am thinking of putting a new battery in the outside alarm box as it is about 5 or 6 years old. Do I have to turn the power off to do this as I know the alarm will sound as soon as I do? SECURIT 700L

The battery outside is ok as it is working, it's the battery inside your control panel that has 'had it' and needs to be replaced
