is ok jon,its better to stick to one forum,then you can come back with any probs,the engineering code as from factory is 07890,if its been changed then come back.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'll have a go at the reprogramming - hopefully this will solve my problem. Sorry about the double posting - just wanted to maximise the probability of getting an answer! I have posted on other fora before and not got a single reply.

but as alarm guy says,you should stick to the one forum,makes it easier to give you the reply you need,you must understand,we give our time for free,we help as much as we can,but when people ask us for the answer,and we give it,bearing in mind us guys on here have over ,or nearly a 100 years experience between us,we do get a bit p...ed off when our answers are just ignored,so,please forgive us if you get a short or terse reply,its up to you guys to ask the right questions,and give ALL relevent info,not just ,my panel wont reset,what can i do,we cant read minds,we know you know what panel you have,but,we dont,do you get my drift?

go into the engineering mode,key in 06#then key in o,now press #to store the new zone (not used) do the same for the other zone you wish to mark not used

I haven't got an answer I can use yet and name-calling doesn't help. I made both postings at the same time and I am asking 'experts' because I am not one. I don't have the knowledge to start fiddling with alarm wire in the box. It was suggested the system needs re-programming which I could do so that's the information I need.

Anyway, sorry to have bothered you 'experts' on this forum. I won't bother again.
