How can I fix my Optima xm6 (16 years old)?

when did you change the battery on your alarm it sounds like it is to old to be of any good, you wont be able to reset your alarm until you get a new battery ,when you get one then switch off the mains supply to the alarm and open the control panel up and disconect the battery and wait a couple of seconds and then conect the new battery and the alarm should respond to your code, then put the cover back on and press reset and turn the power back on and all should be ok bazzzzzz
