Mend Nokia After 3 Hours

My mobile has gone completely dead after being on charge for 3 hours?

Instead of the usual battery pic charging up green the display is showing a big red battery? The phone will do nothing, could the charger drain the battery instead of charging it.

Your phone isn't charging, could be the phone, charger or the battery but more than likely the battery.
Check the connections are clean, take battery out & see if it's spongy by just squeezing it at the sides, if it's blown it would have expanded.
Best way to start it grab a friends battery first &/or charger & do it through process of elimination.
