Mend Wylex Power Light Tv

No power or light?

I noticed my TV went of suddenly and further inspection revealed no Power or light in all the house. Inspection of Wylex Consumer unit showed no trips at all. After 15 minutes switching off all the fuses and switching them on again has restored all the power and lighting so far ( 3 hours ) .
Power supplier insisted no outage reported in the vicinity.
Puzzled as to the cause of the power cut.

sometimes when circuit beakers trip the switch does not drop down so you have to physically switch off then back on again
