Replacing Door Frame and Door Sensor?

I am replacing my door/frame and will have to change my door sensor to the new frame. What is the recommended way to do this? Can I turn power off to the sensor to cut wire and install in new frame? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the site, Great info. My next question is how to shut off my system power to replace this sensor. I have a DSC PC1550 system and cannot determine how to shut power off to that sensor. Will disabling that zone cut power off? Are these wire solder or screwed on to the magnetic sensors?
